The journal adopts a rigorous double-blind peer-review process, ensuring that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated impartially based on scientific merit, originality, relevance, and methodological quality. JNASSM is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics in line with international best practices. JNASSM publishes works across a broad range of thematic areas, including but not limited to sports and exercise physiology, sports medicine and rehabilitation, biomechanics, sports psychology, motor behaviour, physical education, coaching science, sports nutrition, public health physical activity, and sports management. Interdisciplinary and applied research with clear implications for policy and professional practice is particularly encouraged.
As the official journal of NASSM, JNASSM serves as a critical link between research, professional practice, and policy development in Nigeria and beyond. While priority is given to submissions from members of the Association, high-quality manuscripts from non-members and international contributors are also welcomed. The journal publishes issues periodically and accepts manuscripts on a rolling basis. All published articles are expected to conform strictly to the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition guidelines for formatting, citation, and referencing. Through sustained scholarly excellence and professional relevance, JNASSM seeks to enhance the visibility of African research in sports science and medicine, foster international collaboration, and contribute meaningfully to improved athletic performance, population health, and overall wellbeing.
